We're looking to hire a WAL emcee!

December 20th 2016

Do you have what it takes to be a LIVE event host, emcee and play-by-play caller for PROFESSIONAL ARMWRESTLING EVENTS? Do you have experience with building energy and keeping people entertained in a dynamic show or sports setting? Are you the next Joe Rogan in one of America’s fastest growing sports?

We want to hear from you. The World Armwrestling League- as seen on ESPN- is looking for live event emcees to be the voice of the league in events around the U.S. We’re looking for energetic, engaging personalities to play one of the central roles in our live events. The job involves maintaining crowd energy, keeping a show on track, live interviews and play-by-play calling. Not an expert armwrestling analyst yet? That’s ok – we can teach the right candidates. The most important thing is finding the right fit for emcees for our league.

To be considered, candidates need to submit an audition video with the following:

1) Using the information here, call two armwrestlers to the table for a Lightweight Championship match for a fictional event at “The Forum” in Philadelphia.

Justin Bishop
Nickname: “The ‘Bama Bull"
Weight: 165lbs
Hometown: Alexander City, Alabama
Justin's Bio

Luke Kindt
Nickname: “Lightning”
Weight 170lbs
Hometown: Petaluma, California
Luke's Bio

2) Call a match.

Do your best play call on this match between Cobra Rhodes & Jamie Sheldon.

Don’t worry if you don’t know the intricacies/details – the important part is your ability to keep tension and excitement. The specific terms and maneuvers are not as important as your ability to keep it exciting and keep viewers riveted as it progresses to a finish.

Context:
Consider the match is a “Lightweight Semi-Final.”

TO SUBMIT:
Post the above video(s) online via YouTube or Vimeo and send us links to each.  If you have anything else you think we should see, send it along. Don’t forget to include contact information with your submission. You don’t have to be an established emcee to be considered – we have multiple events annually and are looking for a range of candidates.

Email submissions to info@walunderground.com.

We will contact those we feel might be potential fits. Thank you for your continued support.
