Christian Binnie was in the midst of a grueling matchup at a national tournament in 1997 when he heard a loud noise.

“I saw a bunch of light, I saw a bunch of stars,” the Florida puller says. “I said, my Jesus Christ, I just broke his arm.”

Then Binnie looked down.

“I saw how my arm was twisted and I thought, Jesus Christ, I just broke my arm,” he says.

Sometimes arms snap at the table. Binnie thinks his broke that day due to lack of training.

But despite that break, Binnie continues to pull. It’s a sport the retired corrections officer can’t walk away from.

“You got to adapt and change things around for the injuries,” he says. “I know I can still be right up there, and I am.”

Pulling is part chess match, part head game and part speed race, Binnie says.

“It’s the toughest sport,” he says. “Nobody imagines what you have to go through if you want to be on that level.”

Great news! We're currently working on an all new line of WAL gear.
