INTERESTING FACT OR EXPERIENCE THAT HELPED SHAPE LIFE: Josten entered his first tournament and jumped straight to open class. Mary McConncughey took him under her wing and drove him to be the best he could be. Josten says that Heartland Arm-wrestling is the cornerstone of his career.
FAVORITE ARM-WRESTLING MEMORY: “Pulling Jordan Sill at 2012 Nationals in Reno and slipping and punched myself in the face.”
BIGGEST ARM-WRESTLING ACCOMPLISHMENT: Winning 5 out of 6 classes in the Best of the East Tournament in 2011.
BEST ADVICE RECEIVED: “Whatever you do in life, give 110%. So even if you have an off day, you are still at 100%.”
BIGGEST OBSTACLE FACED AND OVERCAME: Josten’s biggest obstacle was himself. The love and support of his family and fiancé, Sara, helped him overcome it.
